I gaze aloud
At the barren land and spotless sky.
All in all nothing to be seen,
Nothing to be heard,
Nothing to be felt.
Its the loneliness which screams into my ear,
Its the void which fills up my empty space
Its the darkness which has held up the light of my life.

Some words are defined at the time of birth, some to be defined at every single moment of life and some loose their meaning with the stagnancy of life. Friends are one single word which doesn’t fit to any of these words but is special, very special to each one of us. Friends accept us for what we are, love our negativity, praised our positivity and loved us unconditionally. But there is still no single definition to describe this beautiful word.

In today’s time of being available 24X7 in the virtual world has taken a toll on the word called friends. Friends is a word very casually used and misused nowadays. Every other person we meet and exchange pleasantries come into the circle of being friends. Cut to chats, messages and cell phones we prove friends to each other at every nano second of this virtual world. Within seconds A and B are friends without even met or knowing each other. The alphanumeric characters show the variety of moods we go through. We sit side by side and find it comfortable to keep messaging each other rather then having a one to one conversation. Why so?? Maybe because it’s easy to express these ways or u don’t have the courage to say what u want to or you have some cloudy thoughts :).

We had been lucky enough to have had met many people whom we can call friends and unlucky enough to loose them in the journey called life. But each passing moment of life was governed by each single person. We let ourselves completely engrossed in ups and downs, feeling their pain and their joy. And then suddenly out of the dream. Time for a change. And this change didn’t even hurt for a second. Why so?? May be because we are not friends, may be because priorities changed with time. But then friends are not meant to change. They are for forever.

For me friends are the part of my extended family. Just like my parents and siblings, I can’t have a day without thinking about each other and vice versa. There are people whom I need but then friends only make your presence valued in their life. I love them. Love them for the fact that I can expect any damn thing from them. Reason for such a strong bond id that we have known each one of us for a long time. Reason is that we have never said to each one of us that we are best friends, close friends, good friends or just friends because we are friends. One relationship I was not born with but acquired with the passage of time, treasured it to the extent that never made any effort to let it go. Why so?? Because friends are meant to stay. They are there to tolerate your crap, enjoy your joys and question your silence. As I read it yesterday some come for a reason, some for a season and rest for a lifetime. Friends come for a reason and make every season of life colorful with their smile :).
